Why?

Sign C-17 on the right specifies the mandatory direction for vehicles carrying dangerous goods, including explosive or highly flammable materials. It applies when the quantities carried require the vehicle to display orange plates. The vehicle and explosion symbol identifies the traffic concerned, while the arrow directs it to the right.
