Carrying a child in a rearward-facing safety seat mounted on the front seat of a motor vehicle equipped with a passenger airbag is:
apermitted without restrictions.
bprohibited.
cpermitted if the airbag is disabled during transport.
Why?
A rear-facing child seat may be used on the front passenger seat if the passenger airbag is deactivated. In a collision, an active airbag could strike the child seat and seriously injure the child. This arrangement is therefore permitted conditionally, rather than without restrictions or prohibited altogether.
