What do you have to do to carry a three-year-old child in the rear seat of a passenger car with two children already sitting in safety seats and it is impossible to install a third safety seat?
aYou must secure the child with a seat belt.
bYou should sit the child on an adult's lap.
cYou must lock the rear doors to prevent them from being opened from the outside.
Why?
If two children already occupy child seats in the rear and a third seat or other child restraint cannot be installed, a third child aged at least three may exceptionally travel there wearing a seat belt. You must therefore take the action stated in A. Sitting the child on an adult's lap or locking the doors does not replace fastening the seat belt.
