If you want to continue driving left beyond the level crossing, should you stop before the half-barrier?

Why?

The cars just beyond the level crossing limit the space available for continuing to the left. You must wait before the half-barrier until you can cross and clear the tracks completely. A raised barrier does not permit entry when there is insufficient space beyond the crossing.
