You are a car accident participant. How should you behave when there is clothing burning on a person?
aPush the person to the ground and put out the fire by covering them with a jacket, blanket or a coat.
bWait for the coming of the fire brigade.
cPut out the fire using an extinguisher.
Why?
Lay the casualty on the ground and smother the flames with a blanket or thick fabric, preferably non-synthetic, keeping their face uncovered. Covering the burning clothing cuts off the air feeding the fire. Waiting for firefighters prolongs exposure, while a standard car powder extinguisher can harm the eyes and airways.
