When driving a motor vehicle, are you obliged to adhere to the orders and signals given at night outside a built-up area by the railway worker at the level crossing?

Why?

A railway employee at a level crossing is authorised to give drivers instructions and signals. You must obey them at night and outside built-up areas as well.
