When is it permitted to carry a child under 150 cm tall in the front seat of a lorry, only restrained by means of seat belts?
aIf the child is at least 135 cm tall.
bIf it is impossible to fit a safety seat in the vehicle.
cIf the child has a medical certificate indicating that it is cannot be transported in a safety seat.
Why?
A medical certificate confirming that use of a child seat is medically contraindicated exempts the child from using one. In the situation described, a child under 150 cm tall may therefore travel in the front seat of the truck wearing a seat belt. A height of at least 135 cm or the inability to install a child seat does not, by itself, permit this.
