At what point, while driving a passenger car, will you press the clutch pedal if you want to routinely (intentionally) brake when you're travelling at high speed?

aBefore I press the brake pedal.
bTogether with the brake pedal.
cWhen the speed drops to the minimum speed for the gear I'm going in.
Why?
The photo shows the driver's feet near the pedals of a car with a manual gearbox. For planned braking from a high speed, press the brake first and leave the car in gear so that engine braking also helps slow it down. Press the clutch when the speed falls to the minimum suitable for the selected gear, before the engine begins to struggle or stalls. Pressing the clutch before or together with the brake unnecessarily removes engine braking at the start of this manoeuvre.
