What may be a cause of a significantly increased flashing frequency of the turnsignals?

aA short circuit in the turnsignal circuit.
bA failure of one of the turnsignal bulbs.
cLow battery voltage.
Why?
A much faster flashing rate typically indicates a failed bulb in one of the indicators on that side of the vehicle. The system responds this way to a change in electrical load. The photo shows the green left indicator warning light, but a still image cannot show its flashing rate. A short circuit or low battery voltage is not the typical explanation for this symptom.
