What distance should you keep when overtaking a motorcycle?
aSafe but not longer than 0.5 metres.
bSafe but not longer than 1 metre.
cSafe but not shorter than 1 metre.
Why?
When overtaking a motorcycle, you must leave a safe lateral clearance of at least 1 metre. This is a minimum, not a maximum, so more clearance is needed in difficult conditions. A and B incorrectly set an upper limit and allow you to pass too close to the motorcycle.
