How should you behave before you start overtaking in good visibility in order to ensure that you have sufficient visibility of the road?

aI must come as close as possible to the car in front of me.
bI will keep a sufficient distance from the car in front of me to allow me to watch the road.
cI will use the horn to force the driver of the car in front of me to move to the shoulder or an emergency lane.
Why?
The car ahead blocks part of your view, so keep enough distance to see the road beyond it. Before overtaking, you must make sure you have adequate visibility and enough room to complete the manoeuvre safely. Driving right up to its bumper reduces your view, and the horn must not be used to force its driver onto the roadside or hard shoulder.
